Combustion plants vary greatly. They differ in the type of burner, capacity, fuel, installation location, safety requirements and numerous other criteria. Because of this, it has long been SAACKE's approach not only to deliver the individual components of a combustion system, but also to be concerned with seamless integration of all parts to form a perfect whole. This is the only way to ensure high availability, reliable operation and unparalleled low consumption and emission values.
When SAACKE burner control systems are integrated into existing control systems, they serve as a reliable component of complex processes. If requested, SAACKE can assume responsibility for engineering the PLC and will provide software and hardware with the experience and reliability you have come to expect.
Despite the differing range of functionality, SAACKE burner control systems are suitable for each burner. They can be installed and configured in just a few simple steps. These systems have interfaces for numerous BUS systems and can be integrated into existing plants. They also feature high performance and flexibility, with maximum safety and reliability (up to SIL 3 as per IEC 61508). SAACKE burner control systems have numerous international approvals and certificates from many ship classification societies.
The new SAACKE automatic firing sequence controller se@vis eco is small and especially affordable – but even in the basic configuration it still offers complete flexibility for demanding combustion plants and considerable expansion possibilities. se@vis eco is suitable for any SAACKE burner with mechanical compound regulation and for use of up to two fuels. Because it is based on preconfigured components, it is not only very safe and reliable operationally, but can also be used immediately.
The fail-safe se@vis FSC basic unit forms the core of the se@vis eco. It is compact, light, and can be placed in almost any position in the combustion system. This is where all the pieces come together: The FSC analyses the signals from the safety interlock circuit and the flame detection system controls purging, initiates ignition, and monitors the burner as it runs in controlled firing operation.
Communication with other system components is also particularly flexible thanks to PROFIBUS and numerous other protocols. This means that se@vis eco is ideally suited for remote control.
If necessary, the control unit can also be completely expanded: With just a few adjustments, the se@vis eco automatic firing sequence controller can be transformed into a convenient burner control system with electronic compound regulation (se@vis compact) or a comprehensive burner management system with large touch screen (se@vis pro).
Like all se@vis control units, it goes without saying that the se@vis eco complies with the Gas Appliances Directive and the Pressure Equipment Directive, and offers certified safety in SIL 3 according to IEC 61508.
se@vis compact offers the range of functions and the advantages of a "large" control unit in a small package. It allows you to control even extensive process combustion systems safely, accurately, and cost-effectively, without having to forgo the convenience of plant visualization. The integrated touch screen displays relevant information, ensuring simple and quick operation for the entire firing process.
The FSC basic unit and the HMI touch screen make up the essential elements of the control unit. In the basic version, they feature 8 fail-safe channels, 4 operating modes, and up to 4 integrated controllers. The 8 channels are each so finely designed with 2000 increments that air dampers, fuel valves, and the fan speed can be set particularly accurately. The drives are se@vis servomotors (FSM), which can be exchanged quickly and with no possibility of error thanks to integrated electronics and a newly developed driven shaft.
The 3.5", 5.7" or 10.4" touch screen visualizes, for example, steam pressure or supply temperature, burner capacity, or the O2 content of the flue gas. The touchscreen not only displays data: A press of a button provides you with trends and information on operating hours or burner starts per day. The similarly integrated initial value fault message system documents fault messages and makes troubleshooting in the system quick and efficient.
Even in the basic version, the se@vis compact is astonishingly multifaceted and suitable for almost any application. For example, it contains a cooling program for systems in which the burner needs to be protected against the heat radiating from the furnace, or it can warm heat generators gently, thereby considerably extending the service life of the plant.
If required, the se@vis compact can be easily expanded to the next-largest control unit, the se@vis pro. This opens up numerous options such as simultaneous firing and coal dust firing. Like all se@vis variants, the se@vis compact also complies with the Pressure Equipment Directive and the EU Gas Appliances Regulation and guarantees certified safety with SIL 3 according to IEC 61508.
se@vis pro controls and monitors the entire boiler plant including the burner and peripherals. This overall view via HMI at the control cabinet or in the control room simplifies maintenance procedures enormously. Receive warnings automatically or in advance in the event of a malfunction and access your system remotely from anywhere in the world. If you wish, you can also grant us access to your own systems via secure remote access - we will then have your system firmly and securely in view for you.
With se@vis pro, each individual process value can be selected in the user-friendly interface for more detailed information. The numerous controllers are pre-configured by us according to customer requirements. This increases the overview and unifies the commissioning of the systems.
SAACKE se@vis pro also convinces with its enormous flexibility. The system is designed for the simultaneous firing of two out of three fuels. Another feature: Depending on the time of day and processes, the demand for thermal energy can vary. So switch over to individual operation with our intelligent burner control unit. This is because se@vis pro can be operated in four different modes per day for the whole week with different load levels and settings, precisely matched to the time. The entire control system is automatic - bringing you one step closer to the "smart factory". Simple, fast and reliable.
Because no combustion system is like another, SAACKE considers each plant individually and customizes the control unit for the specific case if necessary. All this precision pays off: It often saves considerable quantities of fuel in operation, improves operating characteristics and reduces stress on the environment. The costs always remain within limits because all solutions are based on standard components.
Because the entire seavis family is able to communicate with other parts of the plant via bus protocols (e.g. Profibus), it is also ideally suited for complex plants in which the process control systems are responsible for control and visualization of various subsections.
Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are a perfect complement to seavis and offer extensive, plant-specific functions. In this area as well, SAACKE provides not only hardware and software, but also competent engineering with experienced development teams.
