LNG.
Liquefied natural gas for the sustainable shipping of tomorrow
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a cryogenic, liquefied marine fuel based on natural gas that is considered a forward-looking alternative to fossil fuels. LNG produces up to 25% less CO₂ and virtually no SOx, NOx, or particulate emissions. This means that LNG already meets international environmental requirements for shipping. The use of LNG requires special propulsion systems and infrastructure such as LNG tanks and supply systems. LNG is increasingly being used in international maritime shipping and inland waterway transport, especially in newbuildings with dual-fuel engines. SAACKE supports safe and efficient LNG operation with specially developed burners, heating technology, and expertise in handling cryogenic media—for maximum efficiency and safety on board.
