Safe hydrogen combustion with low emissions

SAACKE GmbH delivers complete combustion plant to chemical group AkzoNobel

Akzo Nobel Industrial Chemicals GmbH, producer of chlorine, caustic soda and chlorine derivatives, commissioned SAACKE GmbH with the delivery of a complete combustion plant. The particular challenge in this case was the upstream combustion of H2 gas with extremely low gas pressure (50 mbar (overpressure) prior to entry into the gas control train) combined with a very low NOx emission requirement (100 mg/m³ NOx in the H2 gas operation). The chemicals company from Ibbenbüren in northern North Rhine-Westphalia was preparing for the future with regard to a potential tightening of the statutory regulations. At the time the order was placed, this was 200 mg/m³ NOx. The robust SAACKE Duoblock burner type SKVG 60, based on rotary cup atomizer technology and designed to utilize even the most difficult fuels and waste, still exceeds these requirements and achieves a level of 76 mg/m³ NOx.

DNV GL classifies the SAACKE hybrid multistream scrubber system

Classification increases planning certainty for exhaust gas scrubber operators

It's now official: the classification society DNV GL has certified the SAACKE exhaust gas scrubber based on soot separation using a dry process. This ensures that the innovative system, which was initially installed in 2013 on the tanker MT Levana, owned by the Carl Büttner shipping company, can now be operated without restriction. "Many scrubbers manufactured by market competitors currently operate with special permits. This means that the operator is exposed to the risk that the investment may not pay off. The classification of our patented scrubber gives the operator financial planning certainty", explains Peter Breidenich, Business Director SAACKE Marine Systems.

SAACKE Marine Systems presents an innovative 2-in-1 boiler solution

The low-emission CMB-VF-LONOX revolutionizes multi-boiler systems for a range of ship types

SAACKE Marine Systems is presenting a market innovation at this year's SMM: the CMB-VF-LONOX. If one or two auxiliary boilers, as well as an exhaust gas or a composite boiler, are usually installed to cover the varying demand for steam on ships, the CMB-VF-LONOX does away with the need for an entire auxiliary boiler system. The SAACKE solution also combines straightforward implementation and ease of use with a long lifecycle and energy-efficient operation. The compact, vertical combination-type boiler bundles a multitude of demands that shipyards and shipping companies place on today's on-board equipment. It was specifically developed for ships with multi-boiler plants such as chemical tankers, LNG carriers and passenger ships.
