"After weekly changes in immigration regulations, I were lucky and were able to start my journey with several pages of completed entry documents.
After a long car ride and the ferry crossing, I arrived at the bed and breakfast on Hayling Island. The first day started right away with a real English breakfast and then I cycled the short distance to the SAACKE UK office. After a warm welcome and a tour of the open-plan office, Phil Kemp (GENERAL MANAGER SAACKE UK) presented me with my schedule for my internship. Over the next three weeks I got to know the accounting, service, spare parts and sales departments. Getting to know the faces to colleagues with whom I had previously only had contact by e-mail was a great pleasure. I also got to know new colleagues, even though the office was not fully staffed due to home office and vacation time.
In addition to the internship in the office, I was able to enjoy the consistently sunny weather in my free time and explore the surrounding area on the coast by bike. Phil Kemp also invited me to a barbecue at his home. A bit of normality despite Corona."
